Tatting

Just wanted to add a couple of pictures of some tatting that my nan did for me over 30 years ago.  I tried to learn by myself but in the end I needed her help, kept getting the knots on the wrong thread lol.  I am adding these as I have just joined a tatting circle and I am hoping to teach others this sadly dying out craft.

Finished scarf

Finished the scarf, decided against putting tassles on the ends.

Dog Coats and Scarf

Back finished on another dog coat, suprised that the colour isn't very popular.  I love greens and yellows but it seems others don't lol.
Pinks and purples may be more welcome.  Looks a bit like my hair.
Taking a break from knitting with a crochet scarf.  Another order from a friend, it will match her umbrella.

Knitting in progress

My knitting orders have suddenly taken off, must be the cold weather.  I have nearly finished the pink jacket, just have the rest of the right front to finish so should have that done this week.

Also a small dog coat, just finished.  Now I have orders for five more, but large ones!
I still have orders for my poncho jumper, scarf, bootees, slippers and a stitched purse and bag!
Busy busy busy, so nice and I am so grateful.

Thursday 6 September 2012

While sorting my workroom/studio out I came across a nearly finished jumper.  I thought only cats destroyed knitting, but Dolly has been having some fun.  Luckily its only the ball of wool and not the jumper!
As my dog patterns haven't arrived yet I have started on my next knitting order, my daughter wants a pink jacket for Christmas, is this pink enough lol.
I have also had an order for another knitted poncho style jumper, this one will also be in pink.  What is it with pink lately, everything seems to be wanted in pink!

Finished Jumper

I have finished Fem's Jumper.  I thought I should get cracking now the colder weather is approaching.  Photo does not do it justice really, its a poncho style jumper. I just hope she likes it or I will be selling it and making something else lol.
I have some orders for dog coats, so I will start on those and leave Christmas present knitting for now.

Depression

After a long period of depression, I am hopefully getting back to normal.  I am currently knitting a poncho style jumper for my sister in law, the lovely Femmie.  My daughter has just had a baby and I have some crocodile bootees to make for him.  I want to start making my Christmas presents as its getting close and I still have lots of bags to make.  I have so many ideas and things I want to do now at last I feel motivated.  A big thank you to all of you who have sites I have visited, all your wonderful work has kept my sane, just lol.  Thank you all.

A Surprise

I have been crippled with my back since Friday and haven't been in my workroom.  I went in this morning to put some post in there and my plant is in flower. What a lovely surprise to cheer me up.
Took a close up of the flower itself, so beautiful.
And yet another surprise, I have a visitor looking in the window!  I have a small balcony and Hunny's hutch backs onto the flat, just as well if she can get up on it.  You can see my lovely Perris in bloom and my pansies in milk bottle bottoms for pots.

More Embellished Hangings

For some reason I cannot rotate my pictures.  I should have done this before I added my name in the middle lol.

This first one simply Love.

And this one is Under the Sea.

Four Seasons

I completed these earlier this year. It's a set of four small hangings entitled The Four Seasons.  I have used my embellisher to make the background using paper and fabric.  I have then added ribbons and embroidered over the top to finish.

The first one is Autumn or Fall.

The second is Spring.

The third is Summer.

And finally Winter.

And for the Men....

I also had a request for an ipad bag without the 'girlie' handles; and the mens ipad bag was produced.  Its just a wallet style with metalic fastenings and the key ring holder.

This shows the inside, like the ladies, these are all numbered and individually made.  No two alike.

These are also suitable for either sex.
A bit blurred, but work in progress.

Lets get this show on the road....

At last things are starting to get into place and set up.   I have a new studio/workroom at my flat where I am now working.  I will try and keep this updated and interesting.  First off my labels have been made for my bags.
These are all ladies ipad bags.  I made a raggy ipad bag for myself and everybody loved them and that's how it all started.  So this is just a selection of some of the bags I have made.  Its been an ongoing learning experience as I do things different and try different things.  Most of these have already been sold but I do have a few left; which I am hoping to sell at craft fayres later this year.  Photographs don't really do them justice as they are all photographed in my old kitchen.
