Mirror Frame

I started this mirror frame years ago, when I got it out I realised the robin was as big as a human so he had to go.  I made a big mistake painting the sky too, but I am slowly covering this up.  I should have done the sky first then the branches but hey, I like a challenge.
Using scraps from my scrap bag and embroidering over the top, its starting to look like it should.

Winter blues...

Winter has been cold and depressing for me this year.  I can not compete anything when it is so cold that I can not get warm.  My ideas wither and die.

When I am sewing my scraps go into a bag on the floor.  Dolly has decided its warmer in there!

Dollys Quilt

This is a much smaller quilt made from a Jelly Roll.  I got it a while ago and didn't know what to do with it.  I starting stitching strips together, then cut them and stitched them again to make four big squares.  I joined them with a dark blue strip, then edged with the rest of the strips.  I tried to make it dark one side and light the other, but it didn't end up like that.  Anyway, a nice little quilt for Dolly to cuddle up in while I watch tv in the evenings.

Trying my hand at quilting...

This house is so cold, especially in bed at night.  I had a pair of old curtains that had the bottoms cut off.  They are quite thick and lined with a batting.  They are too small for the windows in this house so I thought I would cut them up and quilt them.
Curtains
 Batting from the lining.

I managed to cut a lot of squares and strips and added some darker fabric from an old fabric sampler book.  I then stitched each square to two strips to make a big square.

With only using a 12 inch ruler and set square I chopped away and stitched bits together.  I set them out so the darker ones were in the middle and the lighter ones around the edge.  Added the batting (there wasn't enough so had to buy some more), and backed with an old duvet cover.
Ta dah!  Finished and in situ.  Dolly likes it anyway.  Not bad for just a quick go anyway.  I have made a small one for Dolly for the couch.  Next job to do a proper one lol.

In the rounds gone square

I have edged all my rounds into squares ready to sew together.  I keep changing my mind whether to sew them together or crochet them together.  I am busy sewing a quilt for my bed and knitting a poncho for the cold so have plenty of time to ponder and deside.

Cafe Bunting

I made some bunting for the local Community Centre who are opening a cafĂ©.  I have lots more to do and its fun and simple to make.

In the round

Nearly finished part one of the rounds,156 so far, just hope they go together when finished.  Just something that's relaxing to do while watching TV.
